IKEA Storage System

Funds will be used to relocate the clothing boutique and retrofit the new space with an IKEA storage system. Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre's center serves over 250 direct clients annually, and this project will alleviate financial and mental stress for parents, improve their parenting skills, and reduce the need for Children's Services intervention. With a larger, centralized space, clients will have easier access to essential items such as maternity and children's clothes, hygiene products, and baby necessities. This project will enhance Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre's boutique to create a safer and more accessible by reducing physical risks from overhead storage bins and steps, increasing privacy for clients, and improving staff efficiency.

Security System for the Cronquist House
The Cronquist House is a 113 year old Victorian Style Heritage House with a very outdated security system. The House holds many precious artifacts and their wellbeing. A Tea House is operated at the House for part of the year, this means there is money stored on site and also food supplies. There is also an office with a laptop and computer and a printer, and where many files and archives are also stored. The House is situated in a Park System and is very isolated especially in the evenings and through the night. The system we would like to install would have cameras situated in key area and an updated panel. Currently when the alarm is sounded, the manager must drive to the House to see if it is an actual break-in or false alarm. If we do not investigate first and the police are called in and it is a false alarm we are then charged for a false alarm. We cannot afford this so we investigate. We cameras installed we can check immediately online to see what is actually happening. We operate on a very tight budget as our funds are not static and are based on how much our facilities are rented or how busy the Tea House. During and since Covid we have struggled, so have not managed to have the funds to do a new security system. It is a worry that we are not being good caretakers of this beautiful building.
